Replacing your iPod Hard Drive
I recently had to replace the hard drive on my 3rd generation iPod. I found it hard to find hard drive compatibility information in the same place so thought I'd open up the question to the web and see if people can help me.

i replaced the hard disk in my 1st gen with a hard disk advertised as being compatible with 3rd and 4th gen ipods without problem - i can't remember the exact model number, but they're common on ebay when you search for replacement ipod hard disks!
